TOPIC: GOD CAN DO IT AGAIN
THEME SCRIPTURE: “He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink abundantly as from the deep. He made streams come out of the rock and caused waters to flow down like rivers.” — Psalm 78:15–16
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Can God do, one more time, the miracles of old?
The Israelites had just walked through the Red Sea on dry ground. They had seen the cloud and fire of God shield them from Pharaoh’s army. They sang songs of triumph. But only days later, when thirst hit their throats and the wilderness heat pressed in, their joy gave way to despair. “Did God bring us here to die?” they murmured (Exodus 17:3).
We may be quick to judge, but aren’t we the same? When crisis arises, how swiftly we forget yesterday’s provision.
Beloved, in times of crisis, memory fades. Trust falters. Complaints replace praise. Yet our God does not change. The God who provided manna in the wilderness, who split seas and flooded dry land from a rock, is the same God who walks with you today. He is not shaken by your thirst. He is not surprised by your trial. And He has not lost His power or His heart of compassion.
As Ole Hallesby once wrote, “It becomes easier for us, and we get more courage, to pray for more when we recall and thank God for past mercies."
Every answered prayer becomes a foothold for faith. The psalmist often recited the works of God— not to remind God, but to strengthen his own soul: “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old” (Psalm 77:11).
Precious one, you may be in a dry place now, but God has not abandoned you. Recall your Red Sea moments. Write them down. Thank Him. Then raise your voice in expectation, not complaint. The same God who rescued you then is ready to act again —perhaps not in the same way, but always with the same faithfulness. God is doing it again.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. Can I name specific times when God provided or delivered me in the past?
2. How can I keep those memories fresh in my heart to fuel present trust?
3. Am I focusing more on my thirst or on the God who quenches it?
PRAYER
Faithful Father, forgive me for forgetting how good and powerful You are. You’ve shown up in my life before—help me remember. Stir my heart to trust You in the wilderness, to pray with boldness, and to praise You even in thirst. Thank You for being the same yesterday, today, and forever. I choose to believe again. In Jesus' precious name. Amen
