Theme: TRAMPLE ON THEM

THEME SCRIPTURE: "Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luke 10:19)

PREPARATORY QUESTION:

1. How can I practically prepare myself each day to recognize and exercise the power God has given me over challenges and obstacles in my path?

Precious One, "Behold." See with your eyes of faith the power that is given to you. What is given must be received. Not only must you behold it, but you must also receive it. He who has received what has been given knows with certainty that he possesses it. This morning, if there is any reflection, it should be on this: "Have I beheld with my eyes of faith the power God has given to me? Have I received this power?"

What is this power for?

This power has been given to us to tread (trample or keep underfoot) serpents and scorpions, as well as all the powers of the enemy. Beloved, in life, there are physical and spiritual serpents.

In His day, Jesus called some people [the Pharisees] a generation of vipers (Matt 12:34). These vipers were men who always spoke evil (deceit, lies, etc.). But there are also spiritual serpents and scorpions—demons ready to bite at the heels of God's people. Whether physical or spiritual, God's power is available to you to keep them underfoot. Since the power is in your hands, it is no longer God's business to deal with the snakes and scorpions in your path. Don’t cry to God for help; His power is already available to you. Rise in this power and trample on any serpent or scorpion in your way.

Should you be afraid as you trample on such things?

Of course not. The power available to you is no ordinary power. It’s the ultimate power in all realms and spheres. Wielding this ultimate power, no serpent or scorpion can hurt you. Yes, they shall by no means hurt you.

Precious One, nothing can intimidate, hurt, or destroy you if only you wield daily this power made available to you through Jesus Christ our Lord. Fear not, reader of today’s devotional; you are a man or woman of power. Do not be afraid, because all power in heaven and earth resides in you. Take charge, because you have dominion. Remain blessed.

PRAYER:

Eternal Father, thank You for making Your power available to me. I have received in faith the ultimate power of God. Today, I tread over and bruise the head of every scorpion or serpent in my way. Thank You, Lord. Hallelujah!
