TOPIC: ETERNAL TRUTH; ETERNAL FREEDOM
THEME SCRIPTURE: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36, NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Where can mankind find true freedom in this life?
John Adams, America's second president and one of the finest political philosophers of his time remarked, "The general principle upon which the fathers achieved independence were the general. principles of Christianity. I will avow that, I then believed, and now believe that those general. principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and the attributes of God."
Beloved, Adams saw God’s principles as the bedrock of human dignity and justice. But Jesus goes further:
He doesn’t just inspire freedom—He is freedom. His Word dismantles lies, His Spirit breaks chains, and His resurrection guarantees that no bondage—internal or external—can ultimately withstand His authority. The freedom He offers isn’t fleeting; it’s woven into the fabric of eternity. Glory to God!
As Christians, how can we walk in the freedom Christ alone gives?
Precious one, if we believe in Christ as the source of true freedom, then we must claim our freedom daily:
Start each morning declaring, “Christ has freed me from the tyrannical rule of darkness, and has translated me into His marvelous light. I live above [name a struggle]”. Replace lies with Scripture (e.g., “I am loved” [John 3:16], “I am blessed and also chosen” [Eph. 1:3-4]).
Additionally, we will need to wield the Word: Beloved, memorize one verse this week that confronts a specific fear or habit you want to destroy. Truth is a sword—use it.
Lastly, liberate others with the truth: Share your story of freedom with someone trapped in shame and despair. Your testimony is proof of Christ’s power to free the hurting and the desperate, the struggling and the confused, the perplexed in life, and those living without meaning and a sense of direction.
Precious one, don’t just admire freedom—live it.
Any area of your life that is not free, Jesus awaits you. Today, open your Bible and let God’s truth disarm one lie or one struggle you are faced with. Then, text a friend: “Christ’s freedom is real. Let me tell you how He freed me.” Eternal liberty is yours—go for it.
