TOPIC: LIVE FOR GOD’S APPROVAL

THEME SCRIPTURE: “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men.” —John 2:24 KJV

 

 

PREPARATORY QUESTION

1. Whose approval matters most to you—God’s or people’s?

 

 

Jesus knew the hearts of men. Although many praised and celebrated Him, He did not entrust Himself to them because He was not dependent on human approval.

The same challenge confronts us today. We can become so concerned about our reputation, social status, followers, and what people think of us that we neglect what God thinks about us.

Nicodemus came to Jesus at night seeking answers, but Jesus saw beyond his position and religious reputation. God is not impressed by appearances; He looks at the heart and the character we are becoming.

King Saul provides a warning. He admitted that he disobeyed God because he feared the people and listened to their voice (1 Samuel 15:24). His desire to please people cost him his throne.

Beloved, you cannot build a godly character while living for human approval. Let your greatest desire be to please God, even when people do not understand or applaud you.

Today, ask yourself: If everyone stopped praising me, would I still choose to obey God?

May your life be so committed to God that His approval becomes enough for you.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help me to seek Your approval above the praise of people. Give me grace to live with integrity, obey Your Word, and make pleasing You my greatest desire. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
