TOPIC: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NAME

Theme SCRIPTURE: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.” – Mark 16:17

PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:

1.     What is in the name of Jesus?

2.    Can the believer of Christ cast out devils?

The first spiritual law revealed in scripture is the Law of Order—orderliness in the spiritual and material realms ensures harmony and progress. It is amazing to note that authority and power govern the spiritual realm. Demons recognize authority when they see it, and they subject themselves to it. When Jesus died and rose again, he received all authority in heaven and in the earth (Matt 28:18). Meaning, no one has authority but what Jesus gives.

And at the mention of the name "Jesus," every knee bows and every tongue confesses His Lordship over all (Phil 2:10).

After receiving all authority in heaven and earth, Jesus has given His name to all believers to exercise dominion over devils. There are various kinds of devils who cause various kinds of afflictions in the lives of men. No devil, regardless of type or rank, has the dominion. We, who have believed in Christ, have the dominion. Glory to His name.

Our theme scripture iterates that all those who believe in Jesus will have supernatural indications attending their lives—they will cast out devils in the name of Jesus, and they will speak with new tongues. Sometimes, some people try to cast out devils, but they are never able to, because they haven’t understood how authority works.

If a man has authority, he says to one go, and he goes;  to another come, and he comes (Matt 8:9).

Precious one, all the requirement you need to exercise authority over demons is to turn over your life to Jesus, confessing the Lordship of the risen Christ. If you don’t meet this requirement, you can’t walk in this truth. This is because if you use the name, the devil will check your identity to see whether you are of Christ or not (Acts 19:15-16)

Precious One, don’t let the devil harass you or stress you. Don’t let him be a nuisance in your life like the Egyptian fly or a stubborn enemy like the Assyrian bee. Just use the name.

The name is enough to put down and silence the devil in your life. Don’t plead or negotiate with the name when it comes to the devil. Command the devil with the exalted name (Acts 16:18) because he is a loser. Jesus has already bruised his head; this is why he always wears a bandage around his head. Don’t let such a loser intimidate you because you have what it takes. Learn to meditate on the name. I mean the name of Jesus. Reflect on the name often and learn to exercise spiritual authority confidently using the name. He who has the name has the dominion. God bless you more.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:

1.   Do you know that often when certain unfortunate trends continue in a person’s life it could be the activities of the devil?

2.  Do you know you can stop any unfortunate trends in your life using the name Jesus, if you are a child of God?

CONFESSION

Thank you Precious Father, for the name of Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. I affirm today that I have dominion over all devils through the name. I take authority over anything contrary to the abundant life I have received in Christ. I put an end today to all demonic activities against my life and that which concerns me. Hallelujah
