TOPIC: FAITHFUL IN EVERY ASSIGNMENT

THEME SCRIPTURE: “Therefore, brothers and sisters, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty.” —Acts 6:3

PREPARATORY QUESTION

1. Are you pursuing prominence, or are you pursuing faithfulness where God has placed you?

The apostles understood that the ministry of the church required more than gifted preaching—it required faithful people serving in every assignment. As the needs of the believers increased, they appointed Spirit-filled and wise individuals to oversee the daily distribution of food. This was not a lesser ministry; it was a vital expression of God's love and justice.

God measures faithfulness differently from the world. While people often celebrate visible positions, God delights in hearts that serve with integrity, humility, and wisdom. The seven men chosen in Acts 6 were selected because of their character before they were recognized for their competence. Their private walk with God qualified them for public responsibility.

Stephen, one of those appointed to serve tables, would later become one of the church's boldest witnesses for Christ. His story reminds us that God often prepares us for greater assignments through faithful service in seemingly ordinary responsibilities. No act of obedience is insignificant when it is done for the Lord.

Wherever God has placed you today—at home, in the workplace, in ministry, or in your community—serve wholeheartedly. Faithfulness in today's assignment becomes the foundation for tomorrow's opportunities. The Lord is not looking for availability alone; He is looking for dependable hearts that honor Him in both the hidden and the visible moments.

Key Takeaway

God entrusts greater responsibility to those who demonstrate faithfulness, wisdom, and godly character in their present assignment.

Beloved, do not overlook the opportunities God has already placed in your hands. Serve with excellence, humility, and joy, knowing that every act of faithful obedience matters in God's kingdom.

Remain blessed.
