TOPIC: HONOR GOD WITH YOUR BODY
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ Himself?... You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” —1 Corinthians 6:15, 19–20
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What must we do to honor God with our bodies?
Paul delivers a profound reminder: salvation doesn’t just change your spirit—it lays claim to your body. In Corinth, where sexual immorality was normalized, Paul reorients the believers to a higher standard. Our physical bodies are not just vessels for pleasure or productivity— they are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19).
To be joined to Christ spiritually means we must live in ways that reflect His holiness physically.
Paul uses marriage imagery to emphasize that union with Christ is sacred and exclusive. Just as a spouse would not share their covenantal bond with another, neither should we unite ourselves to sin when we belong to the Lord.
This means we cannot say that we have been saved and yet walk in pornography, fornication, adultery, nudity, and all. If we have been saved, from what then? Is it not from the things that we were once involved, and enslaved us? And what is the proof of our salvation if not our transformation?
John Calvin wrote, “We are not our own; therefore, let us not make our own desires our rule. We are God’s: let every part of our existence be directed to Him.” This includes our thoughts, our relationships, our habits, and even our private choices.
In a world that tells us to follow our desires, Scripture calls us to submit them to God. Beloved, because you have been saved, think and also walk in piety. Carry His holy presence with you wherever you go because He lives in you.
True freedom isn’t doing whatever we want with our bodies—it’s using them for the glory of the One who redeemed us.
Remain blessed.

PRAYER
Lord, You bought me at a great price—the blood of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am not my own. Help me to honor You with every part of my life, including my body. Teach me to walk in holiness, guided by Your Spirit, and to glorify You in the private and public areas of my life. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
