TOPIC: FROM FIRE TO GLORY
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow […] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11, NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. How can the believer of Christ appreciate trials to live above it?
According to Spurgeon, "Trials are not obstacles to God’s blessings—they are the forge where His purposes are refined. The deeper the struggle, the brighter the glory that follows." How true this is, and we can see this in the life of our dear Lord Jesus.
Christ’s path to exaltation led Him through humiliation, suffering, and death. Yet His surrender birthed eternal triumph.
So it is with us: The trials you face are not random. They are divine preparation, carving in you the capacity to carry greater blessings and reflect Christ’s victory. Every hardship surrendered to Him becomes a seed of future glory. Job knew very well when he said, "But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold." (Job 23:10).
Beloved, what must we do during times of our trial?
How must we handle trials so that they become springboards or launchpads to glory?
First, we must learn to reframe our trial: When resistance arises, declare: “This struggle is not my end—it’s my training ground. God is preparing me for what’s ahead."
Secondly, we must learn to worship in the wait: Choose one area of difficulty and spend 2 minutes thanking God specifically for how He’ll use it. Worship loosens the grip of despair. Yeah, it does.
Lastly, we must claim Philippians 2:9-11: Write “Jesus is Lord over [your trial]” on a sticky note. Affirm His authority daily over your situation, and see His Lordship take control or dominion over anything contrary in your life.
Precious one, your trials are temporary. God’s exaltation is eternal.
Walk today not as a victim of chaos but as an heir of Christ’s victory—tested, trusted, and destined for glory.
