Theme: BUFFET IN THE WILDERNESS
SCRIPTURE: "He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail." 1 Samuel 2:9 KJV
PREPARATORY QUESTION
1. Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
Walking through the wilderness for forty years with the God they couldn't see with their eyes, the children of Israel, being in dire need, questioned, "Can God furnish a table (provide a buffet) in the wilderness?" (Psalm 78:19)
If you have ever been in a desert, you will appreciate how little comfort is difficult to come by.Similarly, when you get to a place of wilderness in life, where you are in need and yet there's no help in sight, you are bound to be restless. When there is no help, precious one, there is the help of God. God can do it for you if only you can trust Him.
Yes, Hannah trusted God, and He came through for her. God is so faithful that He can be trusted to give His saints a testimony. When Hannah was served a buffet in her wilderness, she testified of God's goodness. Her confession inspires all who look to God for His help. As the song of a bird sets the whole woodland ringing with the sweet melody of feathered chorus, so the testimony of one believer ignites the testimony of all who hear and trust in Jehovah.
Beloved, you too shall testify this day. God will turn the waters of your tears into wine of joy. You also will take up your harp from the willows and shall sing of the Lord's salvation.
When the Lord does it, beloved, the joy that comes with it is overflowing. Hannah ascribed her overflowing heart's rapture to the Rock of Ages. She said, "He is holy; there is none besides Him. He weighs actions; and with Him the bows of the mighty are broken. He knows; He kills; He makes alive; He brings up; He brings low; He makes poor; He makes rich; by strength shall no man prevail." (1 Sam 2:2-9) Glory to God!
Yes, precious One, we do not prevail by strength, but by yielding ourselves and our burdens to Him who can do the seemingly impossible. His gifts and His help, which come from above, are good and perfect. God answers our prayers thoroughly; He furnishes a table in the wilderness.
Hannah lent to the Lord Samuel, and God raised the boy in His presence. God blessed Hannah more with three sons and two daughters (1 Sam 2:21). Hear this: “You may have lost something precious. Are you a bereaved mother or wife? Can you see your loved one ministering to the Lord in the eternal temple? Let go, and let God give you five to replace your Samuel.” Lay down your burden on God and He will set a buffet before you in your wilderness.
God bless you more.

The Lord is my light and my salvation. He is the strength of my life. He who has brought me this far will take me farther. He will keep my feet and exalt my horn. My God is furnishing me a table in the wilderness. Hallelujah!
