TOPIC: WHEN CHRIST APPEARS

THEME SCRIPTURE: “When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” Colossians 3:4 (NLT)

PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:

  1. What will happen to believers when Christ appears?

This verse is a breathtaking promise: Christ is not only with us, He is our very life. And one day, when He appears in glory, we—hidden now, unknown to the world, misunderstood even by ourselves— will be revealed with Him. The future unveiling of Christ will also be the unveiling of our true selves, transformed and glorified.

It was this hope that enabled Paul to echo this: “...the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (Rom 8:18).

The Apostle John echoes this when he writes, “We know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2). This promise anchors us. It lifts our eyes from present afflictions and reminds us that the final word on our lives is yet to be spoken.

Gregory the Great once said, “The more the soul longs to see Him, the more it strives to purify itself for that vision.”

The anticipation of Christ’s appearing calls us to live today in holiness, purpose, and hope. We do not wait passively—we prepare actively. Are you weary of this world? Christ will return. Do you feel misunderstood, unseen, or forgotten? Your life will be revealed with His. Have you suffered loss for His sake? You will share in His glory.

Christ is not a distant future event— He is your life now. But His return will complete what He has begun in you. Let this reality reshape your desires and decisions today.

Remain blessed.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, You are my life—my source, strength, and purpose. Thank You for the promise that I will appear with You in glory. Help me live today in the light of that coming day. Let my thoughts, actions, and desires reflect my eternal identity in You. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
