THEME: CAN GOD TRUST YOU?
THEME SCRIPTURE: "But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men." - John 2:24 KJV
PREPARATORY QUESTION
1. Where lies your commitment in this life—your job, family, status, or your God?
Our theme scripture makes an important suggestion worth reflecting on: "Can Jesus trust you?" Jesus knew all men, not some. As a result, when the multitudes began to say, "This is the Son of God", He did not entrust Himself to them. He was not interested in the endorsement of men.
Like Nicodemus, we come by night and pretend to be different people by day. As a teacher of the law, Nicodemus came to Jesus in disguise, hoping to discuss philosophies of truth and schemes for enlightenment. But the Master knew very well that Nicodemus did not know what he was looking for. What the teacher of the law needed was an upliftment of his soul to experience the larger and superior life which is in Christ Jesus alone. An unregenerated man cannot be trusted by heaven because such a soul is capable of shouting "Hosanna" today and crying "Crucify Him" tomorrow. Hence, Jesus was not interested in the testimony of men or the good reports of the multitude.
Isn't it the opposite today, when most of us are doing all we can to improve our reputation before men but care less what God thinks of us?
Jesus did not commit Himself to the men of His days. Precious One, who are you committed to? Is it the strangers of your social media followers or Christ? Is it your social or financial status or Christ?
As long as a man is committed to securing the praise and good opinion of men about him, godly character will not be formed in him. The inverse is true. So, I can look at your character and tell whether you are committed to God or men.
Beloved, God cannot trust a man whose commitment is towards men. King Saul was removed from the throne forever because God could not trust him. King Saul was more interested in pleasing his followers than God, who made him king over His inheritance (1 Sam 15:24).
Who are you seeking to please day by day? May your answer be God, possessor of the heavens and the earth, all your days. Remain blessed.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. What interests you most—God's opinion about you or social status?
2. How will you rate your character—godly or worldly?
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, all that matters is what you think about me. You saw David as a man after your heart. I receive the grace to live as one who has made the living God his aim, inheritance, and helper. Always seeking to please You alone. Thank you in Jesus' Precious Name.
