TOPIC: FAITHFUL IN THE FACE OF REJECTION
THEME SCRIPTURE:“But I was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter… O Lord of hosts, who judges righteously… let me see Your vengeance on them.” — Jeremiah 11:19–20 (ESV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Why was Jeremiah the prophet lamenting that he was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter?
Jeremiah wasn’t hated for lying— he was hated for telling the truth. His only offense was proclaiming God’s word to a people who didn’t want to hear it. And it wasn’t just strangers who turned on him— it was his hometown of Anathoth.
This is the cost of truth-telling in a world addicted to comfort and delusion.
Today, the faithful gospel messenger may face similar resistance, not because the message is false, but because it confronts sin and calls people to repentance. The temptation to stay silent is real. Yet, like Jeremiah, we are not free to alter or withhold God’s message.
Augustine wrote, “The truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose. It will defend itself.” But letting the truth loose will often make you a target.
Still, Jeremiah didn’t fight back. He prayed. He entrusted his cause to the Righteous Judge, and God sustained him.
Are you growing weary of opposition? Do you feel unheard, ridiculed, or isolated for standing for the truth? You are not alone, and you are not without hope.
God honors those who speak His word with integrity and courage.
Keep proclaiming the message—not with arrogance or anger, but with love, clarity, and endurance.
And if you’ve gone silent out of fear or fatigue, it’s time to return. Let your voice rise again—not for your sake, but for the sake of souls who need the truth.
Remember: Jesus is coming again, and the truth needs to be proclaimed loud and clear.
Remain blessed.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. Have I been silent when God called me to speak?
2. Do I fear rejection more than I fear disobedience?
3. Am I trusting God to protect and vindicate me as I speak for Him?
PRAYER
Lord, give me Jeremiah’s courage to speak even when it costs me. Teach me to trust You when I’m rejected and to pray instead of retaliate. Rekindle my passion for truth and let my life reflect Your heart. Use me, Lord, even in hard places. In Jesus' precious name. Amen.
