PREPARATORY QUESTIONS
1. Why do we try to live a secret life, when we know God sees everything in secret?
One of the most difficult lives to live is trying to hide a lifestyle or a secret you do not want anyone to know. See how burdensome it is for those people having extramarital affairs to maintain secrecy. They are always watching their backs, maintaining tight security on their phone messages, avoiding some calls, and sweating when they become suspects. They have to keep lying, servicing the old lies with new ones.
Precious one, anytime we are avoiding God and hiding from fellow men just because we are afraid they might find us out, we are living in needless agony.
The servant of God Moses, had a better understanding of how needless it is to live a life of lies and secrecy. He affirmed: "We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your indignation”. You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence. All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan. (Psa 90:7-9). Yeah, our secret sins are all set right in the light of His presence. Who are you hiding from? Men? From whom should you be hiding from?
If there is anyone I should hide my sins from, it should be God, not men. Men are equally in the same struggle with sin, but God is the Supreme one over us all.
He is the one before whom I should try to look perfect. Unfortunately, nothing is hidden from His eyes, and fortunately, He is not angry at me. He is waiting for me to be sincere with my crooked ways, so He can help me. Then, it means, anytime I try to live a secret life of lies and dishonesty, I am being foolish. Since I am either trying to look good in the eyes of men who are helpless with their own struggles, or I am trying to swindle God who sees everything. However, it is a great relief to live a life that is transparent before God. A life God has pardon all your sins. Therefore David [a man who has fallen into sin and jumped out] shared this:
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin. Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them. (Psa 32:1-6).
Beloved, what a joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, and whose sins have been put out of God's sight. There is no need to live with the weight of dishonesty when relief is available to everyone of us. Why would you want to live under needless agony when all you need to do is to be sincere with yourself and come to God. He is faithful enough to set you free, cleansing you from all unrighteousness.
Glory to God!

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. Is there any secret, dishonest life you are living as a child of God?
2. If yes, what are you going to do about it today?
PRAYER
Mighty God, I place before you the pages of my life. I receive your pardon and forgiveness for any dishonest life I am in, and any sin I have been covering all this while instead of seeking redemption. Christ has been made a sin for me. Therefore, I am free from all iniquities, in Jesus'precious name. Hallelujah!
