TOPIC: FAITH UNDER PRESSURE

THEME SCRIPTURE:“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.” — Matthew 10:32

 

PREPARATORY QUESTION

1. How do you respond when following Christ becomes uncomfortable or costly?

 

 

Faith is easy to profess when everything is going well. The real test comes when following Jesus puts us under pressure.

Peter loved Jesus, yet when confronted, he denied knowing Him. Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea also believed in Jesus but kept their faith largely private. Their fear of public association with Him held them back—until the death of Jesus moved them to step forward.

Pressure reveals what is truly in our hearts. We may be tempted to remain silent to avoid rejection, criticism, or inconvenience. But Jesus calls us to acknowledge Him openly—not only when it is safe, but also when it is difficult.

You may not face the same circumstances as Peter, Nicodemus, or Joseph, but you will face moments when your faith is tested. What will you choose—comfort or conviction, silence or courage?

Don’t wait for a crisis to decide where you stand. Let your words, choices, and lifestyle show that you belong to Christ.
