TOPIC: SEEK AND SAVE
THEME SCRIPTURE: "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” — Luke 19:10
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- Why does God want us to seek and save the lost?
This single sentence in our theme scripture reveals the heartbeat of Christ: He seeks.
Jesus does not stand at a distance waiting for the lost to crawl home. He moves first. He initiates. He pursues.
In Luke 19, Jesus calls Zacchaeus down from a tree—before repentance, before restitution, before promises to change. The invitation came first. Salvation followed.
This is grace in motion.
God’s love is not passive sympathy; it is active pursuit. Christ’s mission is intentional. Personal. Direct. If you feel invisible today, remember this: you are not overlooked. You are sought by God.
But this truth does not just comfort us— it commissions us.
If Christ came to seek and save the lost, then His followers cannot remain casual about what is unraveling around them— faith growing cold, hope fading, integrity cracking, people drifting.
Indifference is not neutrality in Christ. It is a neglect of duty. To follow Jesus is to notice. To move toward. To care enough to act.
Seeking the lost is rarely dramatic. It is deliberate attention. A conversation. A question. An invitation. A lunch meeting. A prayer.
A businessman once noticed a junior employee slipping all of a sudden—withdrawn, distracted, careless in his work. He could have written him off. Instead, he reached out with a lunch meeting. Over time, he discovered the weight of debt and shame crushing the young man’s spirit. He offered guidance. Connected him with help. Prayed with him. Walked with him.
Years later, that same employee leads a youth ministry for young professionals.
One man chose to seek instead of ignore.
Key Takeaway
Christ’s pursuit of you is proof of your worth. Your pursuit of others is proof of His work in you.
Do not let today's devotional remain inspiration alone. Send the message. Make the call. Initiate the conversation. The lost are rarely far; they are often one intentional step away.
Beloved, that is how the kingdom moves forward—not always through stages and spotlights, but through intentional love.
Christ sought you.
Now go seek someone.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
- Where in your life do you feel “lost” — spiritually, emotionally, directionally?
- Who in your immediate circle may be silently drifting?
- What practical step can you take today to seek rather than wait?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus,
You sought me when I was indifferent and wandering. Open my eyes to where I still resist Your saving work. Give me the courage to pursue those who are hurting, not with judgment but with grace. Let my life reflect Your mission — to seek and to save. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
