TOPIC: IS THE BRIDE GETTING READY?
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”– Revelation 19:7 (NKJV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Who is the bride, and why should she get ready?
Scripture often speaks of the Church as the bride of Christ, and one day soon, that long-awaited wedding will take place. Revelation 19 paints a vivid picture: the Lamb—Jesus—is returning for His bride, and she has made herself ready.
But readiness is not passive waiting. It is active preparation.
In verse 8 of that chapter, we are told of how the bride's preparation will be like: “to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” The bride is adorned in purity, not just positional righteousness, but lived-out holiness.
In an age of compromise, self-gratification, and spiritual distraction, preparing as the bride means resisting the seductive pull of the world. As Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:2). This is not legalism—it is love-driven loyalty.
Purity is not merely abstaining from sin, but cultivating single-hearted devotion.
Like a bride counting the days to her wedding, our anticipation shapes everything: what we wear (righteousness), how we live (holiness), and who we long for (Christ).
Athanasius once said, “He became what we are that He might make us what He is.” That’s what the Bridegroom is doing—preparing us for a union beyond comprehension.
Precious one, if Christ should return today, " Will He find you watching, loving, and ready? "
Remember: Jesus is coming again.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. What “garments” are you wearing—are they stained by the world or made clean through righteousness?
2. Does your life reflect a bride preparing to meet her King?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You are the Bridegroom my soul longs for. Teach me to live as one who is betrothed to You—pure in thought, holy in conduct, and joyful in devotion. Guard me from compromise and awaken love in my heart again. Let me be found ready, clothed in righteousness, at Your appearing. In Jesus' precious name. Amen.
