TOPIC: START WITH GOD'S END IN MIND
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” — Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- Does God have a plan for every life on the face of the earth?
God’s word to Jeremiah is deeply personal, yet universal in principle. It reveals a truth every believer must reckon with: you were created on purpose, for a purpose. Long before your first breath, God envisioned your life—not in vague terms, but with divine precision.
You were not born at random. You were formed, known, set apart, and appointed.
Stephen Covey’s principle—begin with the end in mind—echoes a biblical pattern. Before God acts, He first speaks and sees. Before creation, “the earth was without form,” but God had a vision for it (Genesis 1). Likewise, your life has a God-ordained “end”—a calling, a character, a contribution to His kingdom. Living effectively means aligning your days with that eternal blueprint.
Augustine once said, “Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds rest in Thee.”
Many drift through life restless and unfulfilled—not for lack of effort, but for lack of vision. We chase peace, but peace comes when we live in rhythm with God's design.
What does this mean practically? It means we stop asking only, “What do I want to do?” and start asking, “Lord, what did You create me for?” It means seeking God’s vision for your life through Scripture, prayer, wise counsel, and daily obedience.
Paul told the Ephesians, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand...” (Eph 2:10). Your purpose is not something you invent; it’s something you discover and walk into.
Don’t wait for life to force clarity on you. Seek God’s vision now. He is not hiding it. He is waiting for you to ask.
God bless you more.
