TOPIC: LO, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” – Matthew 28:20
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. What is involved in the Great Commission?
2. What does it mean for Christ to be with us always?
What an assurance – I am with you always. There is no single moment that the Lord leaves us. He is with us. We have the presence of our Savior with us every moment. Signifying that we can never be alone. Wherever and in whatever situation we may find ourselves, we are never alone. We have the ever-abiding presence of the Lord Jesus, who has been given all power in heaven and on earth (Matt 28:18), with us each second of the day. How can we anticipate misfortune?
Precious One, others may feel lonely because they have no one with them or for them. But we are not as they are because we have Christ as our companion, Master and Leader.
The Apostle Paul understood what it means for the Lord to be with him therefore he questioned, ‘If God be for us, who can be against us? (Rom 8:31). If Christ (to whom all power in heaven and earth has been given) is with you, then you have what it takes to conquer and accomplish anything. Therefore are you more than a conqueror.
If Christ is with you, Precious One, you cannot be disadvantaged. Glory to God!
The assurance of His ever-abiding presence has been given to us, to enable us to take the gospel of Christ to the ends of the world without fear. Jesus has been crucified. He has been buried, and He has also been resurrected. This implies that the wages of mankind’s sins have been dealt with, and His resurrection provides an opportunity for a new life. The one who can believe this will receive the opportunity to start anew with God’s nature made available to him. Isn’t this glorious? Jesus says we should go and tell the world. It is important that the world hears this good news. The burden of sin has been dealt with, let us go and tell them. Spread it everywhere - in the cottages and hamlets, shops and kiosks, offices and boardrooms, streets and corners, in apartments and mansions. Spread it to everyone - among the rich and the poor, educated and uneducated, male and female, young and old. Let's spread the good news to all.
Just let them know that all that is required is to believe what Christ has accomplished for them on the cross, and in the grave.
Precious One, our world needs hope, and Christ alone is the hope of mankind. He alone! This hope is in the gospel which has been given to us to take to the world. Carry your candle and run to the darkness. Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn. Hold out your candle for all to see the light. Hold out your candle and light up the candle of others. Glory to Jesus!
