TOPIC: FEAR DOESN'T GET THE FINAL WORD
THEME SCRIPTURE: “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.” — Psalm 34:4
PREPARATORY QUESTION
- What has been your greatest fear this year, and how have you been tackling it?
Fear often pushes you inward. It convinces you to analyze, control, and manage everything on your own. But this verse reveals a different pattern: seek first, then be delivered.
David does not say he ignored fear. He faced it— but he didn’t face it alone. He redirected his attention immediately to God.
What you seek in moments of fear determines what shapes you.
If you seek control, you will become more anxious.
If you seek distraction, fear will quietly remain.
But if you seek God, something shifts internally before anything changes externally.
Deliverance comes to those who seek God in the times of their fear. And deliverance here is not always instant removal of the situation— it is freedom from fear’s grip. The same circumstance may remain, but its power over you weakens.
Fear loses authority when God becomes your first point of contact, not your last resort.
There is also honesty in this verse: “all my fears.” Not just the big ones. Not just the visible ones. Every hidden, irrational, persistent fear is included. They all get removed.
God is not selective in what He addresses.
Beloved, the issue is not whether God is willing to deliver— it is whether you are willing to seek.
Precious one, you are not expected to carry fear—you are invited to bring it.
Key Takeaway
Freedom from fear begins when seeking God becomes your first response, not your last.
Today, interrupt the cycle of fear. Don’t let fear lead your thoughts unchecked. When it rises, pause and turn toward God immediately. Speak honestly. Be specific. Ask for help. And deliverance will be on the way from God's storehouse.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
- What is your natural reaction when fear appears?
- How has that response been shaping your experience?
- What would it look like to seek God immediately in those moments?
- What specific fear do you need to bring honestly before Him today?
PRAYER
Lord, I acknowledge that I often try to handle fear on my own. Today, I choose a different response. I seek You first. You are my source of help and deliverance. Take the fears I’ve been holding—spoken and unspoken—and free me from their control. Teach me to turn to You quickly and consistently. I trust that You hear me and that You are working, even now. In Jesus's precious name, Amen.
