TOPIC: LORD, TEACH ME YOUR WAY

THEME SCRIPTURE: “Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end.” — Psalm 119:33

PREPARATORY QUESTION

  1. How well do you know the way of the Lord?

The psalmist’s request is direct: “Teach me.” It reflects more than curiosity; it reveals surrender. To ask God to teach is to admit that our natural understanding is insufficient and that true wisdom must come from Him.

But the verse does not stop there. It continues with commitment: “and I will keep it to the end.” This is not passive learning—it is a readiness to obey. The psalmist is not collecting insights; he is seeking a way of life.

This posture is essential when approaching Scripture. Without a willingness to follow, learning becomes shallow.

Knowledge without obedience creates distance rather than transformation. But when the heart is aligned to obey, even simple truths carry weight and direction.

A. W. Tozer’s words sharpen this further: God still lives and speaks through His Word. This means every time we come to Scripture, we are stepping into a moment of instruction from a present Teacher.

Beloved, the question is not whether God is willing to teach, but whether we are willing to be taught on His terms.

God’s instruction often challenges preferences, exposes blind spots, and redirects plans. Yet it is always purposeful— it leads toward life, stability, and clarity. To be taught by God is to be led into alignment with what is true and enduring.

Key Takeaway

God teaches those who are willing not only to learn His Word, but to live it.

Precious one, the psalmist’s confession invites a shift: from reading for information to seeking formation, from curiosity to commitment. Let this same confession be yours as well today, and God will teach you His ways.

Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD

  1. Am I open to God correcting or redirecting me through His Word?
  1. Where might I be learning God's truth without fully applying it?
  1. What one area do I sense God calling me to obedience today?

PRAYER

Lord, teach me Your ways. Give me a humble and responsive heart that is ready to receive Your instruction. Guard me against hearing Your Word without acting on it. Shape my desires so that obedience is not a burden but a natural response to Your truth. Lead me in a path that I will follow faithfully, day by day. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
