TOPIC: DWELLING AMONG US
THEME SCRIPTURE: “And when the priests came out of the Holy Place, the cloud filled the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.” — Exodus 40:34
PREPARATORY QUESTION
- Do you recognize God’s presence in the ordinary routines of life—or only in extraordinary moments?
After years of wandering, building, and preparing, the Israelites finally completed the tabernacle of the congregation. Every detail, every piece of craftsmanship, every offering had been set in place. Then something remarkable happened: the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
The presence of God was no longer a distant promise. It was tangible. Visible. Overwhelming. The very space where they had met with Him in smaller ways became a holy dwelling, filled with His glory.
Notice a key principle: God’s glory did not come before obedience. It followed faithful work, careful preparation, and a covenantal relationship. The people had to invest in the process before the presence could dwell among them.
This moment points us to a spiritual rhythm: God desires to dwell with His people —not only in awe-inspiring miracles, but in places of preparation, humility, and consistency. Sometimes we wait for “extraordinary experiences” of God, forgetting that His glory often fills the spaces we have already offered Him: our homes, our work, our relationships, our daily routines.
The tabernacle was movable, portable. God’s glory went with them, guiding them, protecting them, and sanctifying the ordinary. It reminds us that the sacred is not limited to one place or moment. When God’s presence is acknowledged and welcomed, every space becomes holy.
In Christ, God’s presence is now even closer, dwelling in our hearts. Just as the tabernacle was filled with glory after obedience and preparation, our lives can reflect His presence when we align our hearts with Him daily.
Key Takeaway
God’s glory comes to dwell where hearts are prepared. And the sacred is found in faithful obedience and daily life, not only in extraordinary moments.
Today, and every other day, let your obedience to your Lord be absolute. His presence in your life is all you ever needed.
Remain blessed.

PRAYER
Lord, fill the tabernacle of my heart with Your glory. Help me recognize Your presence in ordinary moments and daily responsibilities. Teach me to live in readiness, faithfulness, and humility, so that Your presence transforms everything I touch. Amen.
