TOPIC: WALK BY FAITH
THEME SCRIPTURE: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- Why is it important to walk by faith and not by sight?
Faith is not a passive optimism or mere positive thinking— it is a living, active trust in the invisible God. The apostle Paul reminds us that the Christian life is not built upon what we can see or measure, but upon the promises of God, who cannot lie (Titus 1:2). To “walk by faith” is to shape our daily decisions, emotions, and perceptions around what God has revealed, not what the world around us is promoting.
Modern science tells us that our thoughts can affect our bodies. But Scripture goes deeper: faith affects, not only our bodies but also our souls and spirits. A gloomy thought can negatively affect the human body, and the inverse is true.
Faith anchors us in divine reality, even when the physical world feels unstable. As Athanasius wrote, “Faith is the foundation of all good, the beginning of the righteous life.”
When we walk by faith, we live in alignment with the unseen —yet ultimate—truths of God: that He is sovereign, that Christ has conquered death, that our suffering is not wasted, and that His promises are yeah and Amen. It’s how Abraham left his homeland “not knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8), and how Moses chose “to be mistreated with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin” (Hebrews 11:25).
Faith does not remove pain, but it redefines it. It does not ignore reality, but it rightly interprets it in light of eternity.
As Oswald Chambers observed, “Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and knows the One who is leading.”
Beloved, let not faith just be what you believe, but how you live. Walk by the faith which is founded on Christ.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
- Are you currently walking by what you see or by what God has said?
- In what area of your life is God calling you to trust Him beyond your understanding?
- How can faith reshape your view of suffering, obedience, or purpose?
PRAYER
Lord, I confess how often I rely on what I see rather than what You’ve spoken. Strengthen my faith today. Teach me to live not by the appearances of this world, but by the truths of Your Word. Remind me that my life is part of a greater story—Your story. Help me to walk in trust, even when the path is unclear, knowing You are always faithful. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
