TOPIC: LORD AND SAVIOR
THEME SCRIPTURE: “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9 (NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What does it mean to have Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
For many, Romans 10:9 marks a spiritual milestone—a moment of salvation. But was Paul describing a one-time confession, or the beginning of a lifelong allegiance?
To confess Jesus as Lord is not simply to repeat words—it is to surrender to His rule.
“Lord” means Master, King, Owner. It’s not just saying “Jesus take the wheel,” but stepping out of the driver’s seat permanently.
Athanasius once said, “He became what we are so that He might make us what He is.” His Lordship is not about control for control’s sake—it’s about conforming us to His character.
To make Jesus Lord is to trust His commands above culture, His wisdom above self, and His will above our own.
To call Him Savior is to acknowledge that only through Him we escape wrath and inherit eternal life. We don’t just need help—we need rescue. We were dead in sin; He made us alive (Eph 2:1–5).
But here’s the question: If He saved us from eternal death, how can we ignore Him in daily life? Salvation is not a pass—it’s a pathway. It starts with belief and continues with obedience. Dietrich Bonhoeffer declared, “Only he who believes is obedient, and only he who is obedient believes.”
In short, he who is truly saved lives daily with a consciousness of His Lordship and Salvation. And this means:
- Filtering every decision through His Word
- Submitting all our desires to His will
- Trusting His grace when we fail
- Holding onto His promise when we suffer
This life is not for the perfect—but for the surrendered. And in surrender, we find freedom and the grace to walk on the perfect path.
Remain blessed

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:
1. Have I limited Jesus to a past decision, or is He the Lord of my daily life?
2. Do I obey Christ only when convenient or even when it costs?
3. How can I grow in my awareness of His Lordship and grace today?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You are not just my Savior, but my King. Forgive me for treating Your Lordship as optional. Teach me to walk in obedience, not out of duty, but love. Let my life declare what my lips once confessed—that You alone are Lord, and You alone save, in Jesus’ precious name. Amen!
