TOPIC: WALK AS LIGHT; LIVE AS GOSPEL
THEME SCRIPTURE: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. […] Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16, NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. What does it mean for Christians to live as the light of the world?
According to St.Francis of Asisi, our lives are not a sermon to be heard—they are a light to be seen. The world needs fewer preachers and more practitioners of Christ’s love. Jesus summed it up when He said of you and me, "You are the light of the world..." We are, meaning it is too late to decide that you don't want to be the light of this world.
Light doesn’t announce itself; it simply is. It shines even brighter in darkness, and everyone in the dark comes towards it. In the same way, your daily choices—patience in frustration, generosity in scarcity, joy in trials—preach louder than any words. Francis of Asisi reminds us that faith isn’t a performance but a posture. When your walk aligns with Christ’s heart, even ordinary moments become sacred invitations for others to encounter God.
Being the light of this world means we must live our lives uniquely, as Christ-like in a fallen world. If we are going to shine as light in a dark world, then:
Firstly, we must not let our kindness be interrupted. Hold a door for someone, pay a compliment, or listen without rushing. Small acts of love dismantle walls. Additionally, we must align our choices: In one decision today (e.g., work ethic, social media post, family interaction), ask: "Does this reflect Christ’s light or dim it?"
Lastly, we must consistently share our stories: When someone notices your joy or peace, say simply, “Jesus changed my life. Can I tell you how?”
The world is weary of speeches but hungry for authenticity. Today, walk so brightly that others can’t help but ask, “Who is your Source?” Shine on.
God bless you more.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. Have you been shinning, or have you been hiding your light?
PRAYER
Lord, make my life a walking testimony. Forgive me for hiding my light in comfort or fear. Ignite my ordinary steps with extraordinary love, so others see You, not me, in Jesus's precious name. Hallelujah!
