TOPIC: DON’T STOP HERE

THEME SCRIPTURE: “Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” – Hebrews 12:12-13

PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:

  1. What does it mean to lift up hands which are hanging down and feeble knees?
  2. How must one make straight paths for his feet?

There will always be another level we can reach at every level of our existence. When the world thinks someone has set an amazing or mind-blowing record, another person appears on the scene the following year to break it.  Additionally, life is full of challenges and fatigue. Life can be tough and draining. Such that you may be tempted to throw in the towel.  That is the time you hear the coach’s shout: “C’mon, you can make it. Keep going; you have one good play left.” You may disagree with the coach within, but you dare not give up.

The body may be weak, but if the mind is strong, there will be one good play for you.

Today, the stern voice of God’s Word is charging you, saying, "Be made strong even in your weakness by lifting up your tired hands. Strengthen your feeble knees, for as you keep walking forward in God’s path, all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed.”  The Christian life is like swimming against the current of the water or sailing against the wind. There will be times when you become weary, but you can always advance one level in the power of the Spirit. When Apostle Paul was agonizing under the toil of his missionary journeys, he asserted, “For this I toil, struggling with all His energy that he powerfully works within me. (Col 1:29)”.

Precious One, God wouldn’t have carried you this far if He did not have something up ahead that is greater and superior than what you’ve previously known, seen, and experienced.

So, lift up those low hanging hands and strengthen those feeble knees. Don’t postpone the challenge; face the obstacle. Do not take a detour; alternative byways will take you far from the superior destiny which can, and must be yours. Is it about God’s calling for your life? Face it. Is it about your family’s years of struggle with pain? Confront it. Is it a seemingly impossible dream you have? Work it. How, you may ask?

Precious One, have you not read what the scriptures say, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might, he increases strength. Even the youth shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” (Isa 40:29). When David had gone through tough times also, he said, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Then he advised: “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. (Ps 27:13-14)” What a counsel—wait on the Lord, and He will strengthen your heart.

To wait on the Lord is to make time to be alone with Him so He can refresh you. To wait on the Lord is to surrender your weakness to Him so He can give you His strength.

It is to bring to God your struggles and difficulties, so He can give you His solution. This is how to make straight paths for your feet (or next moves). See, solitude with God is necessary for intimacy; intimacy with God is necessary for impartation (of His wisdom, direction, solutions, strength, resources, and more). So, don’t stop here; but arise and go to the next level, for this is not the destination God intended for you. God bless you more.
