TOPIC: THE BLESSINGS IN CHRIST
THEME SCRIPTURE: “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” – Ephesians 1:7
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What at all is redemption?
- Can all sins be forgiven?
Many years ago a woman who had committed many abortions heard the gospel of Christ. She felt sorry for all that she had done in the past. Yet she wouldn’t accept Christ and His finished works for all mankind. Her reason was that her deeds are too wicked she doesn’t think God will want to forgive her. ‘I have shared blood, don’t you understand’, she exclaimed. She felt that it is just for God to judge her for all she’s done. What do you think, Precious One?
Beloved, you will find it interesting to know that no matter how you choose to classify sin, the same wage applies to them all – death.
Jesus’ work on the cross was not for the types of sins. Rather, He dealt with the wages of all sins. So then, no matter how grave your sins, it has already been paid for. It is too late to worry about whether God can forgive you or not. He did, and it is up to you to decide whether you will accept it for yourself. This is one of the many blessings in Christ.
The mention of redemption supposes captivity or slavery and is a deliverance from it.
Before Christ came, we all were slaves to Satan, sin and death. We were helpless before sin. We were ruled by Satan. The things that were enemies of good life and peace, such as sickness, poverty, etc. flourished in our lives. The shed blood of Christ then ransomed us out of bondage, setting us free. What a blessing.
Precious One, all these blessings are available to us in Christ Jesus – we have the treasures of redemption. Yes, we have it.
We have the total cancellation of our sins, all because of the cascading riches of His grace. This superabundant grace is already working within us, releasing within us all forms of wisdom and practical understanding. This is why, you have to choose to live in a life-union with Him. If you do, and His word also abides in you, you shall ask anything and it shall be done for you (John 15:7). Glory to Jesus. Anytime, unfortunately, you sin, don’t remain under the guilt of it. Rather, remember the blood that has been shed for our sins and receive your forgiveness. It is a blessing to be in Christ. You are blessed to be in Him. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Blessed Jesus, thank you for the riches I have found in you. Thank you for the redemption I have in Christ. I affirm that God has translated me from the kingdom realm of darkness into the kingdom of His beloved Son. I am set free from sin, Satan and death. Glory to God!
