TOPIC: KNOW AND SHARE THE TRUTH
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Who desires all people to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” - 1 Timothy 2:4
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What is truth?
- How can we be part of God’s plan of bringing all people to the knowledge of the truth?
Many years ago, I was witnessing in my community. I came across a man who needed Jesus. I shared the word with him but his question was this, “man, you sound convincing but how can I be sure what you are telling me is the ultimate truth?” I replied to his question by asking, “What makes you think what I have shared with you is not the ultimate truth?” The man just burst out and said, “This is why I am looking for the truth all by myself, forgetting what anyone says or preaches”. He turned to leave and I asked him one question that changed his life forever.
I asked him, “in your pursuit of the truth all by yourself, if you meet the truth on your way will you recognize The Truth? How does truth look like?
Precious One, what is truth? Our theme scripture is revealing to us that God wants all men to be saved. In addition, He wants all men to come to the knowledge of The Truth. What then is truth? Pontius Pilate was the only one who was bold enough to ask this question but he was not bold enough to hear the answer (John 18:38). The day Thomas asked Jesus how they can know the way (John 14:5), Jesus gave them more than they asked. Precious one, Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).
What is truth? Jesus is the Truth. Outside Jesus, there is no truth. He is the embodiment of all truth. Glory to God!
It is exciting to know that God wants all men to know the Truth. Why is it so? The reason is this – it is only the truth that can set mankind free (John 8:32). Men and women outside Christ are looking for something in this life. Every human being is looking for peace in this chaotic world. Not only that but also joy and meaning. These are the greatest need of everyone alive. It is only in Christ Jesus that all these can be found and acquired.
Secondly, those in Christ Jesus know that a man can receive nothing except it is given to him from above (John 3:27). What comes from above is a result of grace. The only way more grace and peace can multiply unto God’s people is through the knowledge of the truth.
Precious one, in a dispensation where there has been a quantum leap in information, can you sift and find the truth. In a time where false teachers abound, can you recognize the Truth? If God wants all men to know the truth, are you contributing to sharing the Truth?
Anyone truly interested in knowing and preserving the truth behaves like the believers in Berea – they eagerly hear the word of Truth and also do their private searching to find out whether those things they’ve heard are true (Acts 17:10-11).
After all, the witness of two is true (John 8:17). How much devotion do you give to the study and search for the Truth daily?
Remember, every day of your life, it is either you are looking for, or living the Truth of life. Anything outside these is futile to your life. Jesus is that Truth of Life. Search Him out as a man searches for riches and your life will be enriched by your devotion to Him. God bless you more.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:
- How do you intend daily to partake in sharing the knowledge of the Truth with others who are in search of the Truth?
PRAYER
Precious Father, thank you for Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I confess this day that I am born of the Truth and I can only live by Him. From today going forward, my desires are tuned to the Truth. My pursuits in life are aligned this day with knowing and sharing the Truth of God. Hallelujah!
