TOPIC: ADVANCE THE COURSE OF CHRIST
THEME SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 8:23
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- Have you ever asked yourself – Why was I saved?
- Or, what can I do for God?
Many times, we ask God for His help in various aspects of our lives. We could ask God for the opportunity to be accepted into school, get a good spouse, a new car, a new job or even a promotion this year. What we lose sight of at times is that God is not so much interested in what He puts into our hands. Rather, His greatest interest is in how effectively we use what He gives us to advance the course of the kingdom of Christ on earth.
Precious One, everywhere you go get busy for the Lord. God wants to put you in positions where His goodness can flow to many others. He wants to put you in positions where unbelievers can also experience godly leadership.
Throughout the scriptures, God has revealed to us that leadership is everything. A lot can be accomplished through a leader who fears and follows after God. David brought prosperity and safety to the children of Israel. Solomon brought a long period of peace and prosperity to God's people. However, kings like Jeroboam and Manasseh led the children of Israel astray. God’s pleasure over Israel turned into wrath.
Have you had an opportunity to be a husband and a father? How are you advancing the kingdom of Christ and godly leadership in your home? Are you a corporate boss? How are you showing forth godly leadership at your workplace? Are you an entrepreneur? How are you treating customers and their needs? As children of God, it cannot be all about money (or salary). It must first be about God and the kingdom of Christ.
Promotion does not come from the east, the west, or the south (Psalm 75:6). Promotions come from God. If more of God’s promotion is going to come to you, make use of the current promotions you have.
Make known the God you serve. Get busy for the Lord wherever you are. You are the ambassador of Christ and a minister of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:20-21).
In our theme scripture, Apostle Paul wrote of the credentials of some men who were travelling with Titus. He testified that they were messengers of the churches and the glory of God (2 Cor 8:23). Be open to sharing the gospel at all times. Distribute devotionals and contents that are of God all the time. Be bold for Christ for He has brought you into this position, place or opportunity for the gospel. This year, should it not be said of you by those God had brought you into contact with – “He is the glory of God” (or one whom God is proud of)? As you strive to advance the course of Christ and the kingdom of our Lord Jesus wherever you are, let that same God continue to promote you, in Jesus’ Precious name.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:
- Do you want to take a stand for God wherever you are or do you still want to be neutral?
- This year what can you do for the love of God?
CONFESSION
I affirm this day that I am what I am, and I have what I have, by the grace of God. Hence, I am putting this grace to work to the glory of God wherever I go. I am not ashamed of Christ nor His gospel. I am a messenger of Christ and His glory in this world - Hallelujah!
