TOPIC: BUILDING YOUR FAITH

THEME SCRIPTURE:“Make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.” — 2 Peter 1:5–7 (ESV)

 

PREPARATORY QUESTION

1. What are you adding to your faith to help you grow spiritually?

 

Faith is the foundation of the Christian life, but it is not the end of the journey. Peter calls us to “make every effort” to grow by adding virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection, and love to our faith.

Each quality strengthens the next. Knowledge helps us live wisely, self-control helps us master our desires, steadfastness keeps us firm in trials, and love reflects the character of Christ.

Spiritual growth requires intentionality. God gives us grace, but we must cooperate with His Spirit by choosing to grow daily.

Faith is the foundation; spiritual growth is the building. Don’t stop at the foundation—keep building.

When we stop growing, we risk drifting. So ask yourself: Am I actively building my faith, or am I simply living on yesterday’s foundation?

May your faith grow stronger, deeper, and more Christlike each day.

PRAYER

Father, help me to grow in faith and become more like Christ each day. Give me the discipline to pursue godliness and the grace to let love guide my life. Strengthen me to remain steadfast and fruitful in my walk with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
