TOPIC: COME TO ME
THEME SCRIPTURE: "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." — John 7:37–38
PREPARATORY QUESTION
- What did Jesus mean "if any man thirst", and what does He offer as a drink?
At the peak of a major festival, Jesus stands and calls out loudly, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” This is not a quiet teaching moment— it is a public invitation.
Jesus speaks to a deeper kind of thirst. Not physical, but spiritual— the inner dryness that success, relationships, or achievement cannot fully satisfy. Everyone knows this thirst at some point: the sense that something is missing, even when life seems full.
His invitation is simple but radical: come to Me.
Not come to religion. Not come to performance. Not come once and move on. But come— and remain.
Then He makes a promise: whoever believes in Him will not only be filled, but “rivers of living water will flow from within them.” This changes the picture completely. Jesus doesn’t just offer relief; He offers transformation.
A thirsty person becomes a channel of flowing rivers.
This means that faith in Jesus is not meant to stop with personal satisfaction. It overflows into influence, generosity, peace, and a life that touches others. When you are connected to Him, your life carries something beyond your own strength.
But notice the order: you must first come thirsty. However, pride resists this. Self-sufficiency ignores it. Distraction numbs it. But honesty unlocks it.
If you try to satisfy spiritual thirst with temporary things, you’ll keep returning empty. But when you come to Jesus honestly—acknowledging your need—He meets you with something lasting.
And not just enough for you, but more than enough to overflow.
Key Takeaway
Only Jesus satisfies your deepest longings —and turns your life into a source of life for others.
Precious one, whatever you may be struggling with today—the struggles of your human soul—all you need to do is "Come to Jesus" and drink.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
- What do I turn to when I feel empty or restless?
- Am I trying to manage my thirst—or bringing it honestly to Jesus?
- In what ways could God use my life to bring “living water” to others?
PRAYER
Lord, I come to You with my need, not my strength. Fill the empty places in me that nothing else can satisfy. Teach me to depend on You daily. From today, I see Your life flowing through me in a way that refreshes others and reflects Your presence. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
