TOPIC: PRAY FOR ALL MEN
THEME SCRIPTURE: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 1 Timothy 2:1
PREPARATORY QUESTION:
1. Why must we pray?
2. Why should we pray for all men?
When we were growing up, one important song that we were taught in Sunday school was called "Prayer is the Key." It was taught that prayer is the Master’s key because Jesus started with prayer (before daybreak) and ended with prayer (in the garden of Gethsemane). Prayer is an essential part of the Christian's lifestyle. The reason is not only that it helps us remain connected or intimate with God, but prayer is also a spiritual programming language. In other words, with prayer, you can program events and activities and take full dominion of things to come, using the revealed word of God as your source code.
If your prayer life has not consistently grown over the years, it is time to wake up.
However, it is important to mention that the postmodern Christian has developed a prayer structure where it is all about himself or herself, followed by a little prayer for the family. This prayer structure is not healthy. It is a prayer structure that is self-centered. Truthfully, if you can pray more for others, prayer for yourself becomes shorter and yet result-yielding. To ensure that Christians live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, the Apostle Paul drew Timothy’s attention to the importance of praying for all men. Men and women make decisions and choices every day that God gives us. These decisions have far-reaching consequences, not only for themselves, but also for those close to us and those far away. Some of these decisions can adversely affect the quiet and peaceful life we are enjoying in Christ Jesus.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere (Martin Luther King).
For instance, a husband’s decision affects not only his wife and children but also his community and work colleagues. Political decisions affect the stability of the country in which a Christian resides. This is why it is not enough to only pray for yourself. Every day God gives you, pray for your president and the political leaders of your country, that the fear of God will underpin their leadership. Pray for your community's and country's business and spiritual leaders to do the right thing in all their endeavors. Pray also for the salvation of souls, revival and restoration in your country.
Prayer for souls in this end-time is the heartbeat of God who wants all men to come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Tim 2:4).
Pray for the church of God, that the bride of our Lord Jesus will continue to advance in this end-time. Pray for missionaries, pastors and evangelists to be more focused because the end is near. Pray for your work colleagues, neighbors, relatives, employer or employees. Intercede for those who are going wayward in their decisions and choices, give thanks to God for those who are walking in conformity to the will of God. Supplicate and pray for those who have yet to know Christ, so that they will be drawn to God by circumstance and crisis. Pray for yourself as well, because your choices affect many people in this life. Precious One, pray for all men, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour. Hallelujah!

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:
1. How do you intend to adjust your prayer approach to accommodate some prayer time for all men?
PRAYER
Precious Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for all those who are in authority in my country. I ask, and I receive wisdom and the fear of God for them all. I affirm that from today going forward, they are all committed to doing the right thing. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen!
