It is not possible to live the Christian life without the ever-abiding presence of the Holy Spirit of God in your life. This is the reason why Jesus charged the disciples to tarry (wait or prioritize) till they receive the promise of the Father Acts 1:4-5). The baptizing of the Holy Spirit is a gift promised to every believer who can believe.
To receive the Holy Spirit of God;
- Read and ponder on this scripture Acts 2:38-39 (NLT)
Peter replied, "Each of you must repent of your sins, turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ to show that you have received forgiveness for your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
To repent means that, having come to Christ, turn your back on all activities and enterprises that are sinful. Choose to let go of your old lifestyle, friends who entice you into sin and businesses that are not of God. You can’t receive Christ to add Him to your old ways. It’s a new day and a brand new life Christ has given you. You are to live as such.
Additionally, go a step further to receive baptism (immersion into water). It is not always the case that you have to receive water baptism before you can receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In the Holy Scriptures, many people also received the Holy Spirit baptism before water baptism (Acts 10:44-46). However, some people, having received Christ as their Lord, may need to receive their water baptism so that the assurance of salvation may be emboldened in them.
At this point, you are ready to receive the Holy Spirit of God.

So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him."

- Do you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from the dead?
- Have you repented of all your sins?
- Do you believe that God is eager to give you His Spirit so you can live like Him?
- Make this Confession Sincerely with your mouth if your answers are Yes –
- HEAVENLY FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT OF SALVATION WHICH I HAVE TODAY. IN THE NAME OF JESUS I ASK AND RECEIVE YOUR GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT INTO MY LIFE TODAY. BEING A GOOD FATHER, I CONSIDER IT DONE. I HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD IN ME THIS DAY. GLORY TO GOD.
